Habtu's Support of the South Florida Special Olympics
Habtu's
adopted daughter, Elshu,
participates in the Special Olympics. She plays in tennis, golf,
swimming, and bowling events, and is a much-loved member of the Tivoli
Lakes community.
She has several holes-in-1 at mini-golf to her credit.
Our
kick-off event most years has been "Let the Season Begin." This is
a
tournament for Tivoli Lakes players and the Special Olympians who come
to participate. The Special Olympians present their tennis
exhibition. Then we
enjoy lunch together with the families of the Special Olympians. The
community supports the cause with donations which are greatly
appreciated.
