About Colby Pet Services

Colby Pet Services is a local company providing superior in-home pet care and exercise services. We take pride in caring for your special pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own surroundings.

Colby Pet Services was founded in Westford, Massachusetts in 2003 and has since become a premiere pet sitting and dog walking service in the community. We now have over 150 happy customers who have placed their trust in us. Our staff of 16 experienced pet sitters treat your pets like we treat our own …as a very important member of your family.

In August of 2005, Colby Pet Services purchased Claws and Paws Pet Services in Stow, Massachusetts. As a result, we now have a staff of 16 experienced pet sitters who care for over 150 dogs, cats, horses and other farm animals in Stow, Maynard, Sudbury, Acton, Concord, Hudson, Boxboro, Clinton, Bolton, Marlborough, Westford, Chelmsford, Carlisle, Littleton, Groton, and Tyngsborough. We have very happy customers and references will be provided upon request.

The in-home services we offer provide your pets with customized and one-on-one attention including exercise, feeding, medication, and playtime, on a regular basis. Each of these services is provided with the attention and tender loving care that we all want our pets to receive, care and attention they so need and deserve.

Why Use Colby Pet Services?

	You are leaving your pets with professional and responsible pet sitters, all of whom are pet owners, and many who have worked for Colby Pet Services for 2 years or more.
	Our staff of 16 guarantees there is always an experienced pet sitter available in case of emergency.
	We assign one primary pet sitter and one back-up pet sitter to each customer so you never have to worry about finding coverage.
	We are open 365 days a year. We do not close for vacations or holidays.
	We are fully insured and bonded.
	We are veterinarian-recommended.
	We leave detailed daily reports describing our visit with your pet(s).
	Cancellations and changes to daily visits can be made up until 9:00 am for that day at no charge.
	There are no mileage fees.
	We are active members of the MSPCA (Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and Pet Sitters International.

Dog Services:

Daily Leash Walks and Yard Play – Colby Pet Services will come to your home for 30 minutes and take your dog for a personalized leash walk or have playtime in your yard, whichever you prefer.

Rates:

$16.00 per visit for one dog.

$18.00 per visit for two dogs from the same household.

$2.00 for each additional dog from same household.

For those clients who currently receive our standard 30 minute leashed dog walk/yard play visit and wish to extend the amount of time we spend with your dog(s), please let us know. We are happy to take your dog(s) for longer leash walks, increase the yard play time and give them extra belly rubs and attention. This can occur either on an ongoing basis or at select times during the year. Charges are just $2 for each additional 10 minutes.

Daily Dog Hiking Groups – Colby Pet Services will come to your home and transport your dog to a local conservation area where your dog can run and play with other Colby Pet Services dogs. Hikes are approximately 45 minutes long (plus the pick-up and drop-off time, which can be just as much fun for the dogs). Dog groups are typically no larger than 5.

Rates:

	$22.00 per run for one dog.
	$30.00 per run for two dogs from the same household.

All visits conclude with fresh water and treats, and dogs who hike are checked carefully for ticks.

We will give your dog meals and medications if requested.

*Weekend and Vacation Pet Sitting – Colby Pet Services comes to your home as many times a day as requested to feed and exercise your pets and keep them company while you are away. We will administer medications if needed and we always give a lot of attention and affection. We will bring in your mail and newspaper(s), alternate lights, water plants, or take your trash out if needed.

Rates:

	$16.00 per visit for one dog.
	$18.00 per visit for two dogs from the same household.
	Add $2.00 per visit for each additional dog from same household.

Please note that (having surveyed our dogs on their feelings about being separated from their beloved family members) we have instituted a policy of a 2-week maximum term for extended absences.

Having learned from experience, for the Weekend & Vacation Service only, we do not accept dogs under 1 year of age.

*Cat Visits

Each cat visit includes feeding, fresh water, litter box cleanup and playtime.

We will also administer medications as needed and let your cat(s) in and out of the house if appropriate.

Rates:

	$14.00 per visit for up to 2 cats from same household.
	Add $2.00 for each additional cat from same household.

Taxi Service: Colby Pet Services is pleased to introduce our convenient new transportation option. Let us take your pet to and/or from the groomer, kennel, daycare, veterinarian, or other local appointment. We can take the hassle and worry out of getting your pet to these visits. Fees are just $15 for every 30 minutes. Advance notification is appreciated and some restrictions may apply.

*Weekend and Vacation Pet Sitting, and Cat Visits, are available only in the towns of Westford, Littleton, Groton, Bolton, Berlin, Boxboro, Marlboro, Hudson, Stow, and Maynard.

How Do I Sign Up?

Colby Pet Services comes to your home for an "interview" to arrange service for you and your pet. There is no charge for this visit. We have you fill out a brief Client Information and Consent Form that gives us the details we need to properly care for your pet, such as leash location, desired walk time, etc. That's all there is to it!
